The Client’s plastic bottle blow-moulding machine had been out of production for 6 months due to their failure of the existing PLC control system which was no longer supported by the machine manufacturer. The machine manufacturer had offered an expensive bespoke control system.

The Client had a PUWER assessment carried out by another external company on a fertiliser/mixing/bagging line and this raised some safety concerns. The Client contacted ST&L to assist them with the improvements and corrective actions as the original PUWER assessment company did not offer this service.

The Client had some safety concerns regarding a large CNC Gantry Milling Machine that had been in use since first supply in 2001. The machine had been subject to several modifications and upgrades from a German company.

ST&L had previously provided advice, consultancy and support in developing corporate European machinery safety standards for The Client. The Client had a requirement to assess all of its production machinery on 16 x European sites against its corporate machinery safety standard.

The Client had recently instigated a corporate MACHINERY SAFETY INITIATIVE. This initiative had been developed to identify the business requirement to assess and implement improvements to machinery safety within The Client’s Sites Worldwide.
